Brandon Mitchener

Brandon Mitchener is Monsanto Co.’s Public Affairs Lead for Europe & Mideast.
Former journalist and consultant to blue-chip companies, business associations and the occasional government, Brandon joined Monsanto in December 2012 from First Solar, where he was Director of Communications for Europe, Mideast and Africa and also managed public relations for the company in India, Malaysia and Thailand.

Previously Brandon was a foreign correspondent in Europe for 15 years, reporting on a wide range of European business and political topics including German unification, technology regulation, food safety and the automotive sector. In his last assignment, Brandon served as The Wall Street Journal’s chief EU business correspondent for six years and covered major food safety and food regulation stories such as mad cow disease, dioxin in Belgian chicken feed and biotech and organic food labeling battles. Before moving to Brussels, Brandon was the Journal’s European automotive correspondent, The International Herald Tribune’s Germany correspondent and a Dow Jones Newswires Germany business correspondent for three years each, based in New York and Frankfurt, Germany.
